Last week we rose a toast to the ”Glass for Everyone” exhibition

Partanen & Lamusuo Ltd did the design and the graphic elements for the ”Glass for Everyone” exhibition, now open at Maritime Centre Vellamo of the Kymenlaakso museum, Kotka. Along with the undersigned, Heikki Lamusuo, Jaana Partanen and Maija Haapala worked as the Pa-La team in this project.

It was exciting to see live what a two-dimensional design made on the computer screen looked like in 3D on-site. And it did look very much like I had thought it would – fantastic! However, I was surprised particularly at how bright and fresh the end result was. On-screen everything blended into the same gradation of lights. And of course the main thing, the objects themselves shone brilliantly in their showcases.

Special thanks to Curator Vesa Alén and Exhibition technician Matti Kaakkurivaara for their co-operation!

The exhibition compiles the history of the Karhula Glass Factory from its foundation in 1889 till its closure in 2009. The exhibition is open till 31/1/2021.
