STAR GUEST Kirsi Pitkänen: Partanen & Lamusuo curated me in a bubble for two months

Performing daily to an average of 30,000 people is an experience I’ll hardly ever come up against again in my career. I got to experience this as one of the Artist Guides at the Finnish pavilion of the Shanghai EXPO 2010. Encounters with people and an intensive interaction with the audience meant a lot to me. The Artist Guide project also influenced my career substantially. My Bubble performance was presented in several national and international media already when I was working in Shanghai, and that brought me new work opportunities after my return to Finland. Also my financial resources improved thanks to the Artist Guide project. I got several important contacts that have remained active till this day, and many of the Artist Guides are still my friends with whom I am in close contact. After Shanghai, I have spent time in the Bubble in performances in Finland, Sweden, Portugal and Japan.
