The Orthodox Church Museum to be an inspiring and experiential destination

The foundation of the Orthodox Church Museum of Finland has received 400,000 € from the Olvi foundation for the renovation of the basic exhibition. This assistance makes possible an experiential and informative exhibition set utilizing modern technology. The presentation of the unique collections in the possession of the Church Museum foundation, an ample placement and variability are in a central role in the renovation work. Alongside the millenarian Byzantine tradition and the Karelian orthodox cultural heritage, orthodoxy will be examined as a way of life and as a part of the passage of the ecclesiastical year. Our architectural, art and design studio Partanen & Lamusuo Ltd answers for the exhibition design of the experiential Church Museum.

RIISA – the Orthodox Church Museum of Finland is planned to be opened for the public in 2014. The renovated Church Museum will serve the city of Kuopio as an important tourist destination, museum customers provincially, nationally and internationally and the church as an orthodox cultural destination.
