MATRIX PART 6: Sleep researchers’ insights and innovations of the gaming world in Kuopio

Jaana Partanen’s Matrix layer (2014) will come to its home turf, when the exhibition opens at the Kuopio Art Museum on 12th June. Every exhibition project is one of a kind, but a little something extra to this brings the fact that this is the art museum of our own town ─ familiar building, familiar people.

This time the collection also includes Jaana Partanen’s older production from the series Dream’s Gift (1997), of whose works and dream texts a book has also just come out. The exhibition also includes a brand-new music document on the making of Matrix layer, starring the many creative and brilliant parties involved in making the Matrix layer.

The Matrix layer works encourage one to take part in art, to move in its pace and with it, to dive into the virtual world and the innovations of the gaming industry as well as to listen and to learn on sleep from researchers and physicians. As a compilation like this, the exhibition is unique and worth seeing.

Opening of the Mental Alchemy – Matrix layer and Dream’s Gift exhibition at the Kuopio Art Museum on 11th June at 6 p.m. Heartily welcome! The exhibition will be opened by dancer and comedian Johanna Keinänen.
