MATRIX, PART 2: The sound environment of dreams, Genelec, 5.1. Surround
The sound environment of dreams? That is the question that I have actively pondered when designing the music work for the Mental Alchemy – Matrix layer exhibition. The question is really difficult. Neither I nor anyone else has been able to give clear answers to the dream sound question. As a tool for designing the music, I have studied meditative ambient music, its pioneers from Erik Satie to Brian Eno, and found from these sources a good basis for a sound environment that we could perceive as dream music. The sounds of Matrix layer combine synthesisation, beauty and harmony, without forgetting the little tension and strangeness we encounter in our dreams. The sound environment will be heard at the Salo Art Museum from 29/03/2014 on splendid Genelec loudspeakers with 5.1. Surround sound reproduction.
