Celebration of female love: A Real Princess sails on Kallavesi as a guest of the Anti festival
”Blue Wedding”, the final event of the ANTI Contemporary Art Festival that has found its home in Kuopio, sailed in the autumnal nature of Kallavesi with 120 artists from around the world and local public. The adolescent daughters of the artwork A Real Princess (from 2007) dived into the underwater world for hours, taking an intuitive contact with the primary element water and their own mother. Female love at its best!
It was exciting to follow the physical functioning of an ethereal work in such a radical context, exploring womanhood in a special way. As it is, the A Real Princess artwork has lately only sent postcards from distant parts of the world. When it has been on show in South Africa, when in Argentina, France, Spain…
